The Sauk Valley Foodbank partners with local food pantries, shelters, meal programs and nonprofit organizations to provide affordable access to nutritious food throughout the Sauk Valley. Together, we're helping ensure that no one in our communities has to face hunger alone.
Our Feeding Our Community Drive Thru giveaway is open most Saturdays from 10am-Noon at 1801 Plant Drive, Sterling, IL.
Please arrive before noon to receive food assistance. The parking lot closes promptly at noon — no exceptions. Upon arrival, our parking lot team will direct you where to enter and park. For safety reasons, no cell phone use or smoking of any kind is allowed while driving through the building.

More Than a Food Warehouse
The Sauk Valley Foodbank serves as the regional distribution hub for food assistance across northwest Illinois. Rather than distributing food directly to individuals, we supply local food pantries, meal programs and nonprofit organizations that serve families experiencing food insecurity.
By purchasing food in bulk and working with generous food manufacturers, farms, retailers and community partners, we help stretch every dollar so more people have access to healthy, nutritious food.
Built by a Community That Cares
The Sauk Valley Foodbank was founded in 2001 following major local plant closures that left many families struggling and dramatically increased demand at area food pantries. With the support of the United Way of Whiteside County and guidance from River Bend Food Bank, a community-wide effort began.
What started with two pallets of donated food, a card table and a desk lamp has grown into one of the region's most important hunger relief organizations, distributing millions of pounds of food each year to agencies serving our neighbors.
We are grateful for the farms, food manufacturers, retailers, civic organizations, volunteers and donors who make our mission possible. From local produce to bakery items and financial contributions, every gift helps feed our neighbors.
Supporting Those Who Serve Others
Instead of serving individuals directly, we provide affordable food to nonprofit organizations that distribute it throughout our communities.
Our partner agencies include food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, senior meal programs, youth organizations, emergency assistance programs, and more. Together, we create a stronger network of support for local families.
